The Three Little Pigs / Science / Materials This unit can be used alongside the story of The Three Little Pigs. It provides opportunities for the children to use science to investigate the materials product are made of and link it to their storytelling. Planning included! Goldilocks and the Three Bears / DT / Food / Yummy Porridge! This unit can be used alongside the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. It provides opportunities for the children to use food technology to create a healthy food product suitable for a character and link it to their storytelling. Planning included! Children investigate the characteristics and properties of different varieties of ingredients to add different flavours to a basic dish – porridge – compare 5 recipes and develop vocabulary to describe the appearance, taste, smell and texture. A Bingo game that will encourage a lot of discussions as you play :) There are 3 different boards, each with matching sets of pictures with names, group names (insect, not insect), descriptions. Playing: Children attempt to match each animal with a picture card; match additional sets of cards, wherever it is an insect or not an insect; and then guess the minibeasts when reading the description cards. Children can check their answers - answer sheet for each bingo board included.
